‚Äč[Source:] Rod Stewart has told fans not to expect any "magicians or midgets" when he plays his upcoming two-year residency in Las Vegas.

The veteran singer is due to kick off the 52-date run at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on August 24.

Speaking to, Stewart said the show, titled 'The Hits', will feature the "the songs that made me famous", along with a few surprises.

"It's a rock'n'roll show. There won't be any magicians or midgets, just a good rock show," he commented.

Stewart also spoke the progress of his new blues album, which he hopes will feature legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, commenting: "Jeff and I will have a summit meeting [in late May] to decide where we're going to go. There's no rush for this album."

Meanwhile, on the subject of a much-mooted reunion with the Faces, Stewart revealed that although he'd "love" to rejoin Ronnie Wood's group, finding time may be difficult.

"The trouble with Ronnie, we get together and we mess about, but the thing is, he is still committed to the Stones," he said.

"If he can give us the time, then I'll commit to that as well. Until he's finished with the Stones, whenever that will be, I can't commit to it. I'd love to. I really would love to."
